Childhood Home Farm Engagement Session - Anna & Josh
An engagement session on the farm where the bride-to-be grew up. Photographed by Erin Lee Allender of Nashville, Tennessee.
No this is not Sarah again. This is her identical twin sister Anna and her fiance Josh. I'm photographing both of their weddings next year and I'm so excited that I get to work with their families twice in one year!
For Anna and Josh's engagement session we met at the farm outside of Nashville, Tennessee where Anna and Sarah grew up. We crawled down to the creek, drove through fields, and pet cows. It was pretty fantastic. Josh came up with a new catch phrase for me to tell my couples to look at each other "lovingly and longingly". Please enjoy their engagement session at Anna's childhood home. I cannot imagine how amazing it was to grow up there!
Venue Feature – Bloomsbury Farms
A venue feature on Bloombury Farms outside of Nashville, TN photographed by Erin Lee Allender.
Last year I travelled out of Nashville to visit Lauren at Bloomsbury Farms in Smyrna, TN. Bloomsbury Farms is a operating organic farm that also holds weddings and events on the property. I throughly enjoyed meeting Lauren and hearing all about what the farm does. I got to ride around the property on a 4 wheeler (my mother would have been scared for my life) and meet Tank the German Shepard and most of Lauren’s family including her adorable daughter. I fell in love with the property and the rustic pavilion. They offer several different locations for a wedding including one of their greenhouses. I cannot image how amazing this place looks with leaves on the trees, especially during fall! For more information visit www.bloomsburyfarms.com
Family Farm Fall Session
A fall family session that took place on the family's farm in Franklin, Tennessee photographed by Erin Lee Allender.
This past fall I had the privilege of photographing a lovely family session on this family’s property outside of Nashville. The kids totally had my heart. They were the absolute cutest. The photo above was them showing me their monster impression. I love being able to take photos of kids being kids because honestly, is there anything better?
Drakewood Farm Bridal Session – Kristen
A bridal session with a beautiful bride with cap sleeve lace wedding dress at Drakewood Farm outside of Nashville, Tennessee photographed by Erin Lee Allender.
Here’s another Drakewood Farm bridal session! Kristen, her mom Kathi, and I ventured out to Drakewood to photograph her bridal session. I LOVED Kristen’s lace, cap sleeve dress and her whole look. It was classic and it was a lot of fun playing that up in her photos. Just wait until you see her gorgeous wedding!
Family Home Backyard Wedding
An elegant open air backyard wedding at the bride's family home and farm in Kentucky photographed by Erin Lee Allender from Nashville, Tennessee.
Last summer I travelled out of Nashville to photograph this beautiful wedding in KY at the bride’s family home and farm. The day started out absolutely gorgeous, the perfect temperature, a historic farm house, beautiful gardens, and wait until you see the open air reception setup. The couple opted to have a pre ceremony cocktail hour as well as a post ceremony cocktail hour. They wanted everything to flow, be relaxed but very classy. Almost as soon as the first cocktail hour began, it began to downpour. There was a 0% chance of rain that day and it rained for a solid 45 minutes. Guests huddled on the porch, the planners rushed around grabbing napkins and menus trying to salvage them and we all waited for the rain to stop so that the ceremony could start. I tell every bride and groom on their wedding day that something not planned is going to happen. It’s inevitable, but it will always work out. Maybe not the way that you had planned, but it will work out and that is just what happened. The linen napkins were dried in the family’s dryer. The chairs at the ceremony were dried off, the bridal party line up on the porch, and as the bride walked down the aisle, we witnessed a gorgeous sunset. I really hope you enjoy this wedding. Sarah Willard of Music City Events and LMA Designs did a fantastic job with the decor. The bridesmaid’s dresses were so fun and colorful and were a gift from the bride to her bridesmaids. The fantastic vendors were- Music City Events, LMA Designs, Music City Tents and Events, Visual Elements, Sensational Sounds and Nashville Event Lighting.
A Family Affair – Emily & Josh
Emily & Josh had an intimate wedding on Josh's family farm in Kentucky. From her mother's reworked wedding dress to the framed wedding photos of their parents used as centerpieces, the wedding centered around their love and respect for their parents and their marriages. Photographed by Erin Lee Allender of Nashville, Tennessee.
I have been hired to shoot in Kentucky several times over the past few years and I am in love with the landscape. I am also loving all these intimate weddings and the weddings that are taking place on family property that I am getting to shoot. So this wedding was right up my alley. Emily was in the army and one day while visiting a church near where she is stationed, Josh sat in the same pew as her. They said maybe two words to each other. She was smitten. A few weeks later Josh asked Emily to go out to lunch with him after church. They barely talked the whole time. She was even more smitten. Josh is a man of few words but is extremely kind and personable and Emily fell in love.
Emily and Josh wanted to have a wedding that was centered around them becoming husband and wife but also about the marriages that were the greatest examples to them, their parents'. The wedding and reception took place on Josh’s parents’ property. Emily’s dress was reworked from her mother’s wedding dress. Framed wedding photos of each of their parents functioned as table decor. It was charming and so was this couple and their family. It was a delightful day filled with a s'mores bar, a bonfire, old fashion soda bottles (where I'm from it's pop by the way), and Josh’s old blue truck. They had no more than 50 people and that consisted of mainly family members. Please enjoy this very sweet wedding.
Intimate Farm Wedding - Katelyn & Matthew
Katelyn & Matthew had a ceremony with only their immediate family and the rest of their guests joined them later at the Barn at Events at East 96 for their reception. Photographed by Erin Lee Allender outside of Nashville, TN.
I recently had the opportunity of photographing Katelyn & Matthew's little baby girl (post coming soon), but 2 years ago, I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing their wedding!
It is always such a honor to be asked to photograph a wedding of a bridesmaid from a previous wedding that you photographed. I remember Katelyn telling me at Dani’s wedding that if she ever got married she was going to hire me. So I was overjoyed when she contacted me because she was engaged and planning her wedding. Katelyn and Matthew are just the absolute cutest. They glow in each other’s presence. I honestly don’t think I have had a more excited bride. She kept telling herself to breathe because she could not hold in her excitement.
Matthew is a farmer and because of that they chose Events at East 96. Kate hales from Boston and she wanted her Bostonian family and friends to experience the world that she now lives in. Katelyn and Matthew decided that they wanted to have a small intimate ceremony at Events at East 96 with only family. A couple hours later they had their friends arrive at the venue via a party bus for a bigger but laid back reception. It was an incredibly fun and personal day and I love that I got to work with them.
