Fall Cragfont Family Session
A beautiful family session with some very special people photographed at Cragfont in Gallatin, TN.
On Halloween morning I got to photograph one of my favorite families. I’ve known Liz and her wife Heather for years now. Liz is a dear friend and is the saint that does my hair. Their little girl was born weeks after Vincent. Liz came over to drop off a meal to me and the next day went into labor with A. A more precious girl does not exist. A. has cerebral palsy and every day she shows the world how much she more she can do. I cannot help but cheer each time Liz posts a video of her achieving a milestone. I say achieving because she works so incredibly hard to get there. She is determined! The difference from the last time I photographed her was shocking, but only to me. Her moms knew that she is going to surprise all of us. Their little boy is the best big brother and a bold protector. Wait until you see the photos where he posed on the sundial. That was all him. Sweet Abby’s newborn photos. I’m so glad that her parents purchased a Baby’s First Year Package from me so that I can photograph Abby’s precious face several times in a year! I love that so many of my previous brides and grooms are having me photograph their babies. It is so exciting to see their whole journey as a family. Wait until you see her adorable Peter Rabbit room!
Family Farm 2 Year Session - Hagan

This cutie is the spunkiest little munchkin you will meet. I’ve worked with her parents for years and now I get to photograph all her milestones! Here are photographs from her two year old family session that we took on her great uncle’s farm outside of Nashville in Goodlettsville, TN. I know I’ve said it before but the biggest key to a great 2 year old session is to give the child plenty of room to play and for the parents to have realistic expectations of how the child is going to act.
Maternity Session - Katie and Jose

Little Lily before she was officially here! She’s 6 months old now! I photographed Katie & Jose’s wedding a few years ago so I was thrilled to get to photograph their maternity photos. Katie wanted a woodsy location and water so we picked Long Hunter State Park for their session. Spoiler alert- Lilly is adorable and I will post her newborn photos soon!

I love when previous wedding clients let me continue photographing their family’s story! Two years after their wedding I got to photograph Katherine & Robel’s newborn little girl and she was precious!
This precious little girl was born to two of my favorite clients. I photographed Katherine and Robel wedding almost two years ago. I so enjoyed working with them at their wedding so I was overjoyed when they asked me to photograph their baby girl’s newborn session. I met them at their house and we all masked up for baby K’s photographs. She is adorable! Besides getting to meet this squishy new baby, I got to see my images from their wedding printed, framed, and on display in their home which is always super flattering. I hope this little one brightens your day!!

I am really enjoying being able to take this time to photograph more families! Kids are like photographing little drunk groomsmen with better manners. I had the pleasure of photographing the Walters’ brood at Crockett Park in Brentwood. One of my favorite photos from the session is of the the boys’ making old men faces. Sisters Nashville Family Session - Harper & Phoebe

The last time I photographed Harper she was one. Now she is four and full of words, sweetness, and I think magic. Her sister Phoebe is just too precious. It is always such a joy to photograph both a couple’s wedding and their growing family. This session was good for my soul. Before us is the 2 year old- loving, joyful, energetic and wait, now he’s angry. Two year old sessions are ROUGH. They have so much energy and now they have opinions. The key is a lot of space for them to move and do the things they want to do. I set up scenarios to try to get what we need and then I go along for the ride. This engagement session should be called - Dakota Steals the Show. Meet Sarah & Jason. I'm photographing their wedding in June. For their engagement session they brought along their puppy, a 100+ pound Newfoundland named Dakota. I'm in love. I laughed through the whole session and continued to laugh while editing the photographs. Hopefully these images will give you the giggles too!

Meet Hagan!! She was born a little over a week ago! Last Friday in her home outside of Nashville, I got to meet Hagan for the first time and photographed her newborn session. Her mom and dad might possibly be my most photographed clients. Pretty much any session I offer, I have photographed for Kristen and Tim! But it all started with their engagement session 7 years ago and now I'm photographing their adorable and tiny little girl. When I'm not photographing weddings, I love to do family sessions! I met the Schneider family when I photographed their eldest's Bat Mitzvah portraits. I instantly fell in love with this family so when they asked me to come back and photograph the whole crew in their home, I was super excited! To keep things more casual, mom and dad let the kids wear what they would be comfortable in. Rachel literally wanted "Just ONE good one of them all together" which left me room to photograph all them being themselves ...which is my absolute favorite! Please enjoy this In Home Family Session!

Three years ago, I photographed Robin and Shujah's wedding at Cedarwood. Thanks to how happy they are and their flower dog, Taj, I took some of my favorite photographs that year. So when Shujah contacted me about purchasing a surprise session for Robin for Mother's Day, I was overjoyed to be working with them. If you know me at all you know that two of my favorite things are dogs and babies and when they brought me this adorable chubby cheeked little boy to photograph, I fell in love. To this little one, all us where chopped liver when his big brother Taj was nearby. He thought Taj was the most hilarious thing ever. I hope you enjoy our Centennial Park Family Session in Nashville!

Oh sweet, sweet Harper! I am so glad that I not only get to photograph your Baby's First Year Photos, but that I get to see you grow while doing them. Your 6 month session was so different than your newborn session because you now have a full on personality. Things you found hilarious at the session - "no", "bad dog", "creepy mouse" (when I googled it I became more confused), chewing on mommy's pearls that daddy gave mom at their wedding, and mommy jumping around like a crazy person. You found me curious and you weren't sure about bubbles. We knew the session was over when the last photo in this blog happened. I can't wait to do your 1 year photographs!

Meet Reggie the French Bulldog and his mom and dad, Tia and Michael. I photographed Tia and Michael's wedding in Nashville 3 years ago and when Michael contacted me about buying a family session for Tia for Christmas, I was excited! Tia had been pleading with Michael to do a session with me and she had no idea that Michael and I were already talking. Michael was concerned that Tia was going to get frustrated and contact me herself to book and I was under strict orders to tell her that I wasn't taking any more clients. Christmas came and Tia was so surprised! This past Sunday we photographed their family of three session. Here is their sneak peek from their session in Franklin!

Man, I love this family and because of this, when Sasha contacted me to see if I would photograph a family session for them in honor of her father-in-law's 70th birthday, I instantly said yes. I photographed Sasha and Darian's wedding almost exactly a year ago and I couldn't wait to see everyone again. Here's a little sneak peek of the Bowers' family session in honor of Mr. Bowers' birthday....although I'm pretty sure the youngest Bowers stole the show. 70 looks really good on you Mr. Bowers!

Meet Harper!! Harper made her grand (very long) entrance into the world a couple weeks ago and I got to meet her last Friday! I photographed her mom and dad's wedding and was so happy that I got to take Harper's first portraits.
