FALL MINI SESSION AT ELLINGTON AGRICULTURAL CENTER WITH NASHVILLE FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER ERIN LEE ALLENDER
Nashville family photographer Erin Lee Allender photographed a fall mini session at Ellington Agricultural Center in Nashville for a family of five she has photographed since 2016.
Their oldest was only a month old the first time I photographed them. Here he is at that very first session.
I have been photographing this family off and on ever since. They went from a family of three to a family of four to a family of five before my eyes, complete with their spunky little girl. Back in 2019 we did their session at Ellington Agricultural Center with two boys under four, when running room, a wagon to sit in, a creek, and snacks were the whole plan.
PHOTOGRAPHING THE SAME NASHVILLE FAMILY SINCE 2016
It has been so fun to watch these kids grow up and see how much they have changed and stayed the same over the years. When a family sticks with the same Nashville family photographer, their photos tell one continuous story, from their oldest at one month old to all three kids at Ellington this fall. It also means I walk into each session already knowing the kids, so I know to look past the posed photos for the personalities I've watched develop.
A FALL MINI SESSION IN ONE SPOT AT ELLINGTON AGRICULTURAL CENTER
A fall mini session is shorter than a full session. Since it was a mini session, we stuck to one spot so that we didn't waste time moving to another location. At Ellington Agricultural Center, that means choosing one area with enough variety to cover the whole family: a tree for full family portraits and individual photos of the kids, and a blanket in the leaves for the kids with mom, the whole family together, and a few of mom and dad on their own.
POSED FAMILY PORTRAITS AND EACH KID'S PERSONALITY
These three kids crack me up. Besides the "pretty" posed photos, I made sure we got some with each of their personalities shining through. The oldest leaning against the tree. The middle one being silly. Their little sister laughing in the leaves.

What is a fall mini session with Erin Lee Allender Photography?
A mini session with Erin Lee Allender Photography is an abbreviated session that hits the highlights of a full session. There are fewer locations, fewer poses, and less time for a child to warm up. There is also less time for meltdown recovery. This fall mini session at Ellington Agricultural Center still covered posed family portraits, photos of the kids with mom, a portrait of mom and dad, and individual photos of each child.
Is Ellington Agricultural Center a good location for family photos?
Erin Lee Allender Photography has photographed several family sessions at Ellington Agricultural Center in Nashville, including this same family's session there in 2019 and the Arteaga family's fall session. For this fall mini session, one area with a tree, a blanket, and leaves on the ground was enough for full family portraits, sibling photos, and individual portraits without moving.
How far in advance should a family book a fall mini session?
Erin Lee Allender Photography recommends reaching out early in the fall for the widest choice of dates. Erin has taken last-minute bookings too, so it never hurts to ask.
How long does it take to get the photos back?
Erin Lee Allender Photography's standard turnaround is up to two weeks from the session date.
What should a family wear for a fall session in Nashville?
Erin Lee Allender Photography suggests picking a shared color palette rather than matching outfits, with layers that make sense for the weather. Nashville fall afternoons can still run warm, so plan for comfort as well as the look.
