Nashville Intimate Micro Home Wedding with Backyard Gender Reveal | Kalilah and Trey

Kalilah and Trey’s intimate Nashville wedding included a home ceremony, indoor toasts from family and friends, and a backyard gender reveal. See how personal touches and family moments made this micro wedding unforgettable.

Nashville intimate home micro wedding couple walking down aisle

My journey with Kalilah and Trey began with their romantic surprise proposal at The Hermitage Hotel, which you can read about here. From that unforgettable moment, they envisioned a wedding that was equally intimate and personal. Photographing their home ceremony allowed me to capture the same authentic joy and connection I saw on the day of their proposal. It gave me the chance to capture their personal moments, laughter, and the joy of celebrating with close family and friends. Their living room had been transformed for the ceremony: furniture cleared, chairs set up, and an octagon-shaped metal arch placed in front of the fireplace. It served as the backdrop for the vows and fit naturally into the space. The rest of the décor, including floral and personal touches, was arranged by the family.

Planning an Intimate Micro Home Wedding in Nashville

Intimate micro weddings at home allow couples to celebrate in a personal and comfortable space. Kalilah and Trey’s living room was cleared and thoughtfully arranged to make the ceremony feel meaningful. As a photographer, I loved capturing how the layout, décor, and personal touches shaped the space and set the tone for the day.

Capturing the Ceremony

Trey ran down the aisle, high-fiving guests, his excitement filling the room. When Kalilah came down the staircase in her modern one-shoulder dress with a puffed sleeve, his gaze never left her. Capturing the way he looked at her created some of the most genuine, in-the-moment images of the day.

During the vows, I moved quietly through the living room, photographing the couple’s expressions, laughter, and the small gestures that made the moment personal. I also stepped onto the second-story landing to take aerial shots, giving a view of the room filled with their closest family and friends, showing the intimacy of this micro home wedding.

Portraits, Family Moments, and Toasts

After the ceremony, I photographed the couple with their guests. I love capturing candid interactions, laughter, and moments that feel natural rather than posed. Group shots, scrunched-together family photos, and wider aerial views all contributed to telling the story of this small, intimate celebration. Later, we went back inside for toasts from family and friends. The laughter, heartfelt words, and warm reactions during these toasts created some of the day’s most memorable and authentic moments.

Backyard Gender Reveal

The celebration continued in the backyard for the gender reveal. Trey hit a golf ball that exploded into a cloud of pink powder. The soon-to-be big sister’s excitement was priceless. I focused on capturing her reaction along with the surrounding celebration — the hugs, laughter, and joy that filled the backyard. These spontaneous and heartfelt moments are exactly why I love photographing intimate micro home and backyard weddings.

Why Intimate Micro Home Weddings Work

Kalilah and Trey’s wedding reminded me how much personality and connection a smaller, personal space can hold. Intimate home and backyard weddings allow couples to be present, comfortable, and surrounded by those who matter most. From the ceremony in the living room, to indoor toasts, to the backyard gender reveal, I was able to capture moments that were personal, authentic, and full of life.

Documenting these celebrations is incredibly rewarding — every laugh, glance, and tiny detail tells a story that will last a lifetime.

If you’re planning an intimate, home, micro, or backyard wedding in Nashville, I’d love to help you capture every authentic moment. From heartfelt vows to laughter-filled toasts and joyful backyard celebrations, I’ll make sure your day is documented exactly as it feels. Reach out today to talk about your wedding and see how we can tell your story through photography.

Nashville Wedding Photography | Riley & Brennan at White Dove Barn

Riley & Brennan’s wedding at the White Dove Barn was full of emotion, love, and memorable moments. From their first look on the rolling hills to golden hour portraits and their sparkler exit, every detail was captured with care by Nashville wedding photographer Erin Allender.

wedding portrait at White Dove Barn, Nashville TN with rolling hills in golden hour.

Riley & Brennan’s Wedding at The White Dove Barn

Riley and Brennan’s wedding at The White Dove Barn in Beechgrove, Tennessee was a joy to photograph. From the soft overcast light during their first look to the warm glow of golden hour on the rolling hills, the day offered incredible opportunities to capture meaningful moments. As their photographer, I loved being part of a wedding that was intimate, joyful, and full of personal details—including their golden retriever Tyson, who proudly walked down the aisle in his tuxedo.

Getting Ready
Capturing the quiet moments before the ceremony is always one of my favorite parts of the day. Riley’s bridal suite was full of energy and smiles as her mom helped her into her gown and her bridesmaids cheered. Her smile was contagious, lighting up every corner of the room. Across the property, Brennan prepared with his groomsmen, calm and focused—a perfect contrast that highlighted his thoughtful, steady presence. These behind-the-scenes moments are some of the images couples treasure most in their wedding galleries.

First Look and Vows
For the first look, I chose the rolling hills behind the barn. The soft overcast light created even, flattering illumination, emphasizing every glance, smile, and tear. Riley and Brennan then read their vows privately, sharing quiet, emotional moments full of laughter and happy tears. Capturing this intimacy is always one of the most meaningful parts of my job—these photos show the connection between the couple before the ceremony even begins.

The Ceremony
The ceremony was full of emotion and personal details. Tyson, their golden retriever and ring bearer, led the way down the aisle. When Riley appeared on her father’s arm, his face lit up with a joyful “here we go” expression as they approached Brennan. Brennan, holding back his emotions, watched her with quiet intensity. Beneath the barn’s white cross, I focused on capturing the expressions, interactions, and small details that made the ceremony uniquely theirs.

Golden Hour Portraits
After the ceremony, I photographed Riley and Brennan on the rolling hills around the barn during golden hour. The warm light made it easy to capture their connection and natural interactions. I focused on candid moments—walking, holding hands, and laughing—using the landscape to frame them in a way that felt relaxed and genuine.

Reception and Celebration
At the reception, I focused on capturing both the emotion and energy of the evening. Heartfelt toasts, a champagne clink with Riley’s grandmother’s Irish Claddagh flutes, and the first dance on the black-and-white checkered floor beneath greenery-wrapped chandeliers were all key moments. From bridesmaids twirling in blush to groomsmen lifting Brennan, the night was full of laughter, movement, and joyful energy. My goal was to capture these moments authentically, showing the personalities of the couple and their loved ones.

Sparkler Exit
The day ended with a sparkler exit. I positioned myself to capture Riley and Brennan running hand-in-hand through glowing lights, the warmth of the sparklers highlighting their smiles and the excitement of the moment. It was a dynamic and memorable way to close a day that was full of intentional, heartfelt details.

If you’re planning your wedding in Nashville, Tennessee or the surrounding areas and want a photographer who captures authentic moments, I would love to work with you. From intimate first looks to golden hour portraits and heartfelt celebrations, I focus on creating images that tell the story of your day. Same-Sex Wedding at Sycamore Farms in Nashville | Allison & Bryn Sneak Peek

A heartfelt sneak peek of Allison & Bryn’s same-sex wedding at Sycamore Farms in Arrington, TN. Emotional vows, a romantic first look, and a breathtaking chandelier-lit first dance captured from above.

Allison and Bryn’s wedding at The Barn at Sycamore Farms in Arrington, TN—just outside of Nashville—was nothing short of magical. This same-sex wedding celebration was filled with heartfelt emotion, powerful vows, and unforgettable moments.

Allison looked stunning in a lace bridal gown with puff sleeves, while Bryn, looking equally as gorgeous, wore an effortlessly chic all-white jumpsuit. Their first look was tender and emotional, setting the tone for the day.

When they read their private vows, all of us photographing them cried right along with their guests. They called each other “soulmates,” and it couldn’t have been more true. Their love is radiant, and their joy in finding one another is contagious.

One of my favorite moments was their first dance. I climbed up to the loft to capture the scene from above, and it took my breath away. With a crystal chandelier and soft white draping overhead, Allison and Bryn moved together while family and friends looked on with quiet admiration. From that vantage point, I could see the entire room wrapped in love and support—it was the kind of moment that reminds me why I do what I do.

Over the past year, I’ve had the joy of getting to know Allison and Bryn, and photographing their wedding day felt like celebrating two dear friends. I truly love this couple, and I’m so honored they trusted me to capture the beginning of their marriage.

This sneak peek is only the beginning—there’s so much more to come from Allison and Bryn’s LGBTQ+ wedding at Sycamore Farms.

Nashville Wedding Photography at St. George’s Episcopal Church & Richland Country Club | Allie & Cole

Allie and Cole’s Nashville wedding blended classic elegance with meaningful family moments, beautifully captured at St. George’s Episcopal Church and Richland Country Club.

Bride and groom cuddled together in front of St. George’s Episcopal Church, Nashville

Allie and Cole’s wedding was a true celebration of love, family, and timeless style. Both share a deep bond over family, friends, and their beloved black Lab, Macie, who has been a part of their life since college.

The day began with quiet, intimate moments: a flat lay of Allie’s blue heels, rings, and perfume on her lace robe, and soft morning light illuminating private moments with her mother. Her sisters and bridesmaids joined in the excitement, covering their eyes for the gown reveal and reacting naturally as Allie turned to show off her dress, their expressions full of joy and emotion.

One of the most heartfelt moments was Allie’s first look with her father. Tears, laughter, and hugs reflected their close bond, while Cole’s first look with Allie in the church courtyard captured tender, candid moments. Macie joined for portraits, wearing a blue ribbon to match the wedding palette, adding a personal and warm touch.

Inside St. George’s Episcopal Church, the Greek Revival architecture and luminous sanctuary provided a beautiful backdrop for family portraits and ceremony details. White florals, light blue accents, and navy bridesmaids’ dresses added elegance and subtle texture to the images, complementing the natural flow of the day.

The reception at Richland Country Club was lively and full of connection. From the groom’s excited fist pump during the grand entrance to first dances, parent dances, and toasts, moments unfolded naturally. Guests laughed, cheered, and joined in family traditions, while Allie and Cole shared quiet moments amidst the celebration. The night concluded with a rose petal exit, a joyful ending to a day full of love and connection.

From first looks to the last dance, I focused on the moments that felt genuine and true to Allie and Cole. Every smile, tear, and embrace tells the story of their wedding day, creating memories they’ll be able to relive for years to come.

Surprise Proposal at The Hermitage Hotel | Nashville Wedding and Proposal Photographer Kalilah and Trey

Troy surprised Kalilah with a romantic wedding proposal during Sippin’ Tea at The Hermitage Hotel in Nashville. From the moment he got down on one knee to the joyful “yes,” every detail — from the fine china to the grand lobby portraits — was captured by Nashville proposal photographer Erin Lee Allender.

Surprise Wedding Proposal at The Hermitage Hotel’s Sippin’ Tea in Nashville

As a Nashville wedding photographer, I’m always honored to capture life’s biggest moments — but proposals are a whole different kind of magic (and stress!). You only get one chance to photograph a “yes,” and there’s no re-do.

Troy planned a surprise wedding proposal to Kalilah during Sippin’ Tea at The Hermitage Hotelrnoon-tea/, Nashville’s elegant afternoon tea experience in their gorgeous blue Veranda. The challenge? There was nowhere to hide with my camera gear without giving myself away.

While Kalilah enjoyed her tea service, Troy slipped away to meet me in the hallway so we could finalize our game plan. I would wait outside the Veranda and quietly step in moments before he asked the big question. While I waited, the incredibly kind Hermitage staff brought me my own tea service — a sweet (and very welcome) surprise that helped me blend in until it was time.

When the moment came, Troy got down on one knee beside their table, tea cakes and fine china just inches away. Kalilah’s face lit up in the biggest smile — pure joy. She kissed him as soon as she said yes, her eyes full of love and excitement.

After the proposal, we wandered through the historic Hermitage Hotel for posed portraits — from the quiet elegance of the now-empty Veranda, to the grand lobby, to charming nooks outside. Every photograph captured their adoration and the magic of their engagement day.

Elegant Downtown Nashville Wedding at the Tennessee State Museum | Caroline + Joe

A timeless downtown Nashville wedding at the Tennessee State Museum—complete with skyline views, classic white florals, and a custom late-night pizza bar. Caroline and Joe’s celebration blended elegance and personality, from a first look at Bicentennial Mall to cinematic night portraits by the museum fountain.

Elegant Tennessee State Museum Wedding | Caroline + Joe | Nashville Wedding Photography
If you’re dreaming of a timeless, outdoor wedding in downtown Nashville, Caroline and Joe’s gorgeous celebration at the Tennessee State Museum is full of inspiration. With classic details, skyline views, and a late-night pizza surprise, this wedding perfectly balanced elegance and personality—an ideal reflection of this incredible couple.

As a Nashville wedding photographer, I’ve documented love stories at many iconic venues, and the Tennessee State Museum continues to be a standout for couples looking for a modern, downtown setting with Southern charm.

Getting Ready at Home in Nashville
Caroline began her wedding day getting ready at their home in Nashville, surrounded by her bridesmaids and her closest family members. Hair and makeup by Hunter Paige created soft, elegant looks for the entire bridal party. Caroline, a stunning brunette bride, wore a classic gown and radiant smile—her bridal portraits are some of my favorite moments from the day.

First Look at Bicentennial Mall’s Bell Towers
Caroline and Joe shared their first look at the bell towers in Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, just steps from the museum. This hidden gem of downtown Nashville provided a grand and private setting for their emotional first look. It’s one of my favorite locations for wedding portraits—especially when paired with that afternoon light.

Outdoor Ceremony at the Tennessee State Museum
Their ceremony on the museum lawn featured sweeping views of the Nashville skyline, with elegant all-white florals by Bloom Flowers Nashville lining the aisle. Guests were welcomed with champagne and Miller High Life—served in glasses garnished with orchids, a signature touch arranged by Elliott Events.

Reception, Late-Night Pizza & Off-Camera Magic
As the sun set, guests enjoyed cocktails outside the museum before heading into the reception. The design, led by Elliott Events, was filled with candlelight, refined details, and warm hospitality. After toasts and first dances, Caroline changed into a second look, and the dance floor came alive.

Later in the evening, Caroline, Joe, and I snuck out of the party for night portraits by the museum fountain. It was completely dark by that time, so we used off-camera flash to create beautifully lit images that feel cinematic, dramatic, and totally different from the rest of the day’s light. It’s one of those little moments that becomes a favorite—just the two of them, lit up against the quiet Nashville night.

Of course, no perfect night ends without pizza. Since Joe makes his own at home, it only made sense to serve it late-night—boxed and branded as Joe G’s Pizza by Flavor Catering. It was a huge hit with guests and one of the most personal wedding touches I’ve seen all season.

The celebration wrapped with a sparkler exit outside the Tennessee State Museum before the couple made drove off in a classic car.

If you’re planning a wedding at the Tennessee State Museum or anywhere in downtown Nashville, I’d love to connect and help you tell your story—beautifully and intentionally!

Hendersonville Bluegrass Yacht and Country Club - Karen and Trent

Karen and Trent’s wedding at Hendersonville Bluegrass Yacht and Country club. Their adorable little girl was their flower girl and a surprise mariachi band played Karen and her dad’s song.

Fall Wedding at Bluegrass Yacht and Country Club: A Celebration of Love and Family

Karen and Trent’s fall wedding in Hendersonville, TN, was all about family. As a Nashville wedding photographer, I love capturing moments like these that are filled with connection and emotion. From getting ready at Trent’s parents' house to the reception at Bluegrass Yacht and Country Club, their wedding day was a beautiful blend of love, family, and celebration.

The day began at Trent’s parents' house, a place full of warmth and love. Karen got ready surrounded by her mother, her soon to be mother-in-law, her nieces and Karen and Trent’s absolutely adorable daughter, Ava. Instead of a traditional wedding party, Karen’s nieces brought their own special energy and support, making those early moments even more meaningful.

One of the most touching parts of the morning was the first-look moments. Karen’s dad and brothers got to see her first, and their reactions were priceless—full of love and pride. But perhaps the sweetest moment was Karen and Trent’s own first look with their daughter watching on . Watching the joy and love between all them was incredibly special and a true highlight of the day.

Capturing these intimate moments is what makes photographing weddings so unique to me. The personal touches, like getting ready in a family home, bring out the authenticity and emotion of the day.

The ceremony and reception took place at Bluegrass Yacht and Country Club, where Karen and Trent gathered with their loved ones to celebrate their marriage. Karen and Trent’s daughter was at the heart of the celebration, playing a big role in the ceremony. Her involvement brought so much happiness and light to the day, reminding everyone what the celebration was truly about—love and family.

During the reception, Karen’s first dance with her father was so joyful. The mariachi band accompanying their dance while Karen and her dad sang along filled the room with energy and emotion, creating a moment that no one will soon forget.

Karen and Trent’s wedding wasn’t just a celebration of their love—it was a celebration of their family. From the relaxed and joyful moments at Trent’s parents’ house to the fun and heartfelt dances at Bluegrass Country Club, the day was full of connection and joy.

I understand how important it is to preserve these once-in-a-lifetime memories. Whether you’re planning a wedding at Bluegrass Country Club or another venue in the Nashville area, I’d love to be a part of your special day!

Nashville Indian Wedding Celebration - Aparna and Shiv

Aparna and Shiv’s colorful and joyful Indian wedding at Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, TN.

Give me all the color and all the wedding traditions. Aparna and Shiv were married last year at Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville in a glorious Indian wedding celebration. Besides the couple, the outfits, the henna, the flowers, the music, the traditions, Shiv’s Jordans, and the food, my absolute favorite part of the day was the baraat. Traditionally the groom processes in on his own but Aparna and Shiv did it their own way and they entered together standing out of a jeep. Music courtesy of DJ Jay ATL was thumping out of the back of an open sprinter van while guests walking next to vehicle danced and waved ribbons. The atmosphere was so joyful that I would say it was one of my top favorite 5 things I’ve ever photographed. There were three gorgeous outfit changes and the florals were out of this world. Wait until you see the mandap! The reception had enormous crystal “chandeliers” suspended over the tables. It was a work of art by Elliott Events and Bloom. Aparna and Shiv were the sweetest couple and so much fun to work with. It was a pleasure to work with them and their families. Please enjoy a few of my favorite images. We photographed for 15 hours so there were A LOT of images! Vendors are listed below.

Rooftop Aertson Nashville Wedding - Cynthia and David

Cynthia and David’s rooftop intimate wedding photographed at the Kimpton Aertson in Nashville, TN.

This is a love story that spans two continents and years apart. Cynthia and David spent all but a few weeks of their relationship long distance. When they met, David lived in Tennessee and Cynthia lived in India. Very shortly after their meeting, COVID-19 shut down the world. It wasn’t until a month before their wedding that they could secure Cynthia a visa for the US and because of all the red tape, Cynthia’s parents were not able to enter the US for the their wedding. And although they were able to live stream the ceremony for Cynthia’s family back in in India, the fact that they weren't able to be there, I know was very difficult for Cynthia.

Cynthia and David opted for an intimate wedding celebration. They didn’t want a DJ or a big todo, they just wanted a really nice dinner party for those that they were closest to. They chose the rooftop at the Aertson in downtown Nashville for their reception and were married in one of the smaller banquet rooms downstairs. The decor was all made by Cynthia and it largely revolved around their abroad relationship. Cynthia wore a gorgeous non traditional blue lace dress and was absolutely stunning. This couple lit up as soon as they got to see each other and there was no doubt how happy they were that they were finally in the same place at the same time together. I was very honored to get to work with a couple that fought so hard to be with each other. I hope you enjoy some of my favorite images from their rooftop Aertson Nashville wedding.

Intimate Gallatin Backyard Wedding - Shelby and Davis

Shelby and Davis’ intimate backyard wedding photographed at the creek where they went on dates and Davis’ parents backyard.

Calling a wedding simple should not be considered a bad thing. A modest wedding can be absolutely beautiful and very meaningful. Shelby and Davis had the most perfect intimate backyard wedding in Davis’ mom and stepmom’s backyard. Davis’ mom is my neighbor. I actually walked my “little” green wagon with my gear three houses down from my house to work. In one of the photos you can see my son’s beloved “Dinosaur Pumpkin Head” inflatable in the background. They were married in September of last year and, oh my gosh, I can’t believe we set up Halloween decorations so early. I apologize to the neighborhood.

Shelby and Davis are sweet and adorable and not ones to stand in front of a bunch of people. So together with 20 or so of their family members and their dog, they were married in Davis’ mom and stepdad’s backyard. We drove down the street and photographed their first look and wedding portraits at a creek near our house. I suggested that location not knowing that they used to go on dates there. Giving us one more reason that an at home wedding is a great option, your history as a couple is ever present. The day consisted of getting ready, portraits, the ceremony, dinner, and toasts. It was beautiful and perfect for Shelby and Davis. I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from their intimate Gallatin backyard wedding.

Hillwood Country Club Wedding - Kelly and Georges

Kelly and Georges wedding photographed at First Presbyterian Church and Hillwood Country Club.

I have another wedding that brought outside elements inside for their late fall wedding. I cannot believe I have never blogged this wedding because it was a favorite. Kelly and Georges were married at First Presbyterian Church in Nashville and their reception followed at Hillwood Country Club. Their wedding decor was brilliant. Modern Vintage Events did a fantastic job! Inside the ballroom at Hillwood Country Club, greenery was hung from the ceiling giving me Tuscan vibes. It completely transformed the room. Outside on the patio where the dancing took place, there was more greenery but also a disco ball and a large K & G marque.

Kelly and Georges were the best. They were so easy to work with and so many sweet unstaged moments happened throughout the day. Also they brought their dog, Louie to be in photos and you all know how excited I get about that. I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from their Hillwood Country Club Wedding. Nashville Backyard Spring Wedding - Mary and Thomas

Mary and Thomas’ bohemian meets garden party backyard wedding photographed at her parents’ home in Nashville, TN.

Wanting your wedding to feel more intimate and homey? What feels more like home than home? Mary and Thomas had a beautiful bohemian meets garden party affair in Mary’s parents’ backyard in Nashville. Because it was April, they opted to tent both the ceremony and reception location. They even included the new trees in the backyard by tenting over them and adding uplights!

I photographed Mary’s sister’s wedding years ago and I remember having to tell myself that Hope probably wouldn’t appreciate it if it was the Hope plus Mary wedding gallery. Mary is just so photogenic and you can’t help but photograph her. The more I have gotten to know Hope, I now know she would have probably been just fine with that. These two sisters are inseparable.

Mary and Kevin are the sweetest couple and neither one of them particularly enjoy the spotlight. This more relaxed backyard wedding was perfect for them. Family members gave speeches and Mary’s aunt officiated the ceremony. It was charming. I loved these two and I loved the look and feel of their Nashville backyard wedding.

14TENN Nashville Wedding - Maisie and Bryan

Maisie and Bryan’s ethereal indoor wedding photographed at 14tenn Nashville.

Getting married in a colder month or a month that has a lot of rain can be problematic for a wedding. A perfect solution is picking a venue with great window light and bringing the outdoors inside with your florals.

Maisie and Bryan did just that. They were married at 14Tenn in Nashville which has plenty of windows and white walls. Their florist draped greenery throughout the venue and with that and the white drapery, the room had an ethereal look to it. It was gorgeous and a photographer’s dream. We were able to do the majority of their photographs inside during a very, very windy day.

Maisie and Bryan quickly became one of my favorite couples this year. They are sweet and goofy and I just love them. Their ceremony was probably the most sincere that I have every photographed. The whole day was so genuine and lovely. It felt like an intimate wedding while still having a large guest list. One of my highlights that day was Maisie's dad sharing a portion of his father/daughter dance with Maisie’s three brothers. It was so sweet.

I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from Maisie and Bryan’s ethereal indoor 14tenn Nashville wedding. Their planners, Camille and Emily with As We Gather Events and their florist, Echoes of Eden did a fantastic job.

Cheekwood Garden Party Wedding - Kate and Jack

Kate and Jack’s Cheekwood garden party wedding photographed in Nashville, TN. Make sure to check out their seating chart that was actually a table of plants!

If you love a bright English garden party look, you are going to love this one. Kate and Jack (not of LOST or Titanic fame) were married this summer at the Cheekwood Botanical Garden in Nashville, TN. I don’t know if I have ever met a groom more excited to marry his bride. I think he would have run down the aisle to her if he was allowed to.

Kate and Jack met while studying biochemistry at Vanderbilt and are they are both currently studying medicine. I can’t imagine two people more destined for the jobs that they will have. Kindness and compassion flows from them. They are more than an excellent match and anyone that knows them is better for it.

We started the day off at Kate’s house for getting ready photographs. A family home is my favorite getting ready location. There is something about a grown adult standing in their wedding attire in the home that they grew up in that really gets me. The wedding party was made up of exclusively family so the whole day family was front and center.

Cheekwood was gorgeous as always and Kate’s dress really popped there. Wait until you see the back of her gown. Their garden party wedding decor and colors were incredible. I don’t think I’ve ever liked a seating chart so much. The table numbers and guest names were all painted onto terra-cotta pots that were filled with bright flowers!

I hope you enjoy some of my favorite photographs of Kate and Jack’s Cheekwood garden party wedding. Vendors are listed below!

Childhood Home Wedding in Lascassas, TN - Katie and Matt

Katie and Matt’s beautiful fall wedding at photographed at Katie’s childhood home outside of Nashville in Lascassas, TN.

There is nothing more charming than photographing a backyard wedding at a childhood family home. I get such joy walking through a house looking at all the family photos and seeing pictures of my client as a little child. It’s easy in my job to look at a wedding as formula. First we do the getting ready photos, then we do the portraits, then comes the ceremony, and so forth. Seeing a photographic timeline of how a client came to be where they are now and knowing how much love their parents have for their no longer little baby, whips everything back into focus (pun intended). Having your wedding or reception where you grew up adds history and depth that isn’t possible in a venue. It also adds so much more work. SO MUCH MORE and you really need to be ready for a massive commitment. You also must have a coordinator and not just a day of coordinator, but I digress.

Katie and Matt were married last fall in Lascassas, TN at her family church, Lascassas First Baptist. Lascassas is about 50 miles outside of Nashville. The reception followed at her childhood home. The view was absolutely gorgeous and there were horses. What could be better? The couple was ADORABLE. You couldn’t help but be happy around Katie. Her joy and enthusiasm bubbles over. You’ll see it in the photos. We photographed around the town of Lascassas and I got to hear all the stories about different shops and their owners. One of the best moments was their exit when their guests threw paper airplanes at the couple. Katie is a flight attendant! Their reception dance floor was hilarious. Katie’s dad, who appeared to be a reserved man, really let loose and had all of us in stitches. I hope you enjoy some of my favorite images from Katie and Matt’s childhood home wedding in Lasscassas, TN. See their vendors below.

Bankers Alley Hotel Winter Wedding - Andi and Mark

A winter wedding at an art gallery/hotel in Nashville. Please enjoy Andi and Mark’s wedding at The Bankers Alley Hotel with lots of rooftop downtown Nashville photos.

Andi and Mark were married early in 2023 at The Bankers Alley Hotel (formerly 21C Hotel) in Nashville. The winter day was surprisingly warm and the sun on the balcony of the 21C Suite was absolutely radiant. This was my first wedding of the year and it was perfect. Winter has a different more diffused light and in the right circumstances it photographs beautifully. This day had the right circumstances- sun and a beautiful bride and groom. I loved this couple.

21c functions as a museum as well as a hotel and it surrounded Andi and Mark and their guests with art the whole day. Which was very fitting because Andi is also an artist. I loved watching guests sip their cocktail while appreciating different pieces. I hope you enjoy some of the photographs from their Bankers Alley Hotel Winter Wedding in Nashville.

Marathon Music Works Wedding - Regan and Sam

Regan and Sam’s winter wedding photographed at Christ Church Cathedral and Marathon Music Works in Nashville, TN.

When you find the one, you can find your way back. That is what Regan and Sam did. They met in 5th grade but didn’t start dating until their senior year of high school. They broke up when they both went off to college, but found their way back to each other. Together for almost 9 years, they were ready to make it official and celebrate with their family and friends. They had a very sweet ceremony at Christ Church Cathedral, but the reception was the highlight of the day with a live band, special seating areas, and plenty of great food and drink. They wanted to show their guests a great time and they did just that. It was a frigid and gusty day, but Regan and Sam powered through and we got some of the best photographs. This couple was adorable, sweet, and a pleasure to be around. Their planner Grey, with House of Grey Events, transformed Marathon Music Works into a masterpiece. Please enjoy some of my favorite photographs from Regan and Sam’s Marathon Music Works Wedding.

Nashville Brunch Wedding - Celine and Mike

Photographs of Celine and Mike’s beautiful intimate brunch wedding at Vanderbilt’s St. Augustine Chapel and Henrietta Red in Nashville, TN.

Can every wedding be a brunch wedding? Celine and Mike met during the pandemic and decided if they had to lockdown, why not do it together and on a tropical island, right? After a stent in Barbados, they eventually settled in Tennessee and where they had a small private wedding ceremony in 2021. In 2022 they decided to celebrate with all their family and friends with a vow renewal at Vanderbilt’s St. Augustine Chapel and a brunch reception at Henrietta Red. It was fantastic and is my new favorite way to have a wedding. It was intimate and classy and filled with a ton of great food. Please enjoy some of my favorite photographs from their wedding day!

Ruby Nashville Wedding - Hayley and Mike

Hayley and Mike’s rainy day wedding photographed at Ruby in Nashville, TN with a special appearance by the flower bro’s.

An adorable couple, a pair of flower bros with fanny packs, and a room full of lifelong friends made Hayley and Mike’s wedding at Ruby in Nashville, TN a memorable day to photograph. These two and their wedding party were so much fun to work with and despite the fact that it rained most of the day, we had an incredible time. Hayley looked gorgeous in her gown and the florals were stunning. One of the highlights of the night for me was a toast from Hayley’s dad where he read lyrics from a considerable amount of country songs about love and relationships. It is up there on my list of dad toasts. Everyone was so incredibly happy for these two and no one wanted the party to end. Please enjoy photos from Hayley and Mike’s Ruby Nashville Wedding.

Evening Spring Haven Wedding - Rhea and Beau

A wedding under the stars for Rhea and Beau at Spring Haven Mansion in Hendersonville, TN outside of Nashville.

This summer I photographed Rhea and Beau’s outdoor evening wedding at Spring Haven Mansion in Hendersonville outside of Nashville TN. Low light weddings can be extremely challenging but we figured out a way to make it work without distracting from their beautiful ceremony and I am very happy with how it turned out. Is there anything more romantic than getting married on a historic brick walkway under the stars?Rhea and Beau were stunning and the venue is a hidden gem that I can’t wait to photograph again. I hope you enjoy some images from their evening Spring Haven Wedding!
