Nashville Brunch Wedding - Celine and Mike

Photographs of Celine and Mike’s beautiful intimate brunch wedding at Vanderbilt’s St. Augustine Chapel and Henrietta Red in Nashville, TN.

Can every wedding be a brunch wedding? Celine and Mike met during the pandemic and decided if they had to lockdown, why not do it together and on a tropical island, right? After a stent in Barbados, they eventually settled in Tennessee and where they had a small private wedding ceremony in 2021. In 2022 they decided to celebrate with all their family and friends with a vow renewal at Vanderbilt’s St. Augustine Chapel and a brunch reception at Henrietta Red. It was fantastic and is my new favorite way to have a wedding. It was intimate and classy and filled with a ton of great food. Please enjoy some of my favorite photographs from their wedding day!

Cathedral of the Incarnation Wedding - Missy & Matt

Missy and Matt’s Vanderbilt University portraits and The Cathedral of the Incarnation wedding in Nashville, TN.

Whew the end of 2022 became very busy with sessions and weddings and I chose to get images to clients more quickly and in order to do that, I had to put blogging on hold. I’m excited to revisit all of my remaining 2022 weddings with you and Missy and Matt is a great one to start with! I really loved these two. They were both very kind, sweet, and genuine and one could not help but like them. Like many of the weddings this summer, we had the threat of heavy rain and they navigated location and time changes with ease. We were very lucky and completed all their photos without incident. The two met in med school at Vanderbilt and because of that connection, we decided to do photos on campus. One of the best moments of their wedding day was when Matt and Missy’s father surprised her by playing “Melissa” by The Allman Brothers. Missy’s sister passed out the lyrics and all their guests sang a long. It was so sweet. I hope you enjoy Missy and Matt’s Cathedral of the Incarnation Wedding!

Loveless Summer Wedding - Shannon & Mike

Two Vanderbilt Residents fell in love and had their wedding at The Village Chapel and the Loveless Barn in Nashville, TN. Portraits were photographed on Vanderbilt’s campus.

Golden_Hour_Wedding_Image

Oh Shannon and Mike! These two are just too adorable for words. They are also part of my Vanderbilt Residency Squad (we have a squad now guys) and I just love all of them. Their wedding was beautiful. So much laughing, so many tears, and an ice cream bar. Although they met years before at a college they were both considering, their relationship didn’t begin until they were both internal medicine residents at Vanderbilt. Because of this, we did their portraits on the campus of Vanderbilt University. See their super cute story below!

“We actually met in 2010 at Duke Medical School's second look weekend (which is when they invite accepted students back to visit the school as they try to convince us to come there). There were probably a few hundred people there, but we met and talked about how we liked to hike and kayak (and how we both liked Vanderbilt haha). Then, all of us boarded a bus to spend the afternoon at the Raleigh History Museum. About an hour or two in, Mike turned to a large group of us asking if anyone else wanted to explore the town since he had already seen the entire museum. Everyone said no, except me! We walked around the town and went to a coffee shop together. It wasn't anything particularly romantic at the time. We then went to separate medical schools... until we both matched at Vanderbilt for internal medicine residency! We definitely remembered each other. We were friends for a little over a year before we started dating. The rest is history!”
