Sneak Peek Elegant Cedarwood Garden Wedding - Sara & Connor
Photographs from an elegant garden destination wedding at Cedarwood in Nashville, Tennessee.
I just love these two! Sara’s smile lights up everything around her including a cloudy, raining wedding ceremony. Connor is just the absolute best = they are perfect together. Sara and Connor met while they were both with separate friend groups sitting at different tables at Patterson House. Connor was stationed in Clarksville and Sara was on vacation. Crazily, Sara and one of her bridesmaids both met their husbands that night!
Sara and Connor looked incredible on their wedding day and Historic Cedarwood looked stunning as always. The entire day was overcast and we were hoping that the rain would hold off until the reception but instead it decided to start raining right before Sara walked down the aisle. Sara and Connor were troopers and had their whole ceremony in the rain. They never complained once and STILL looked amazing afterwards. The rain ended almost as soon as we started their portraits leaving us with some really fun light to play with. By far my favorite moment was when Sara was walking down the aisle to Connor on her dad's arm. She started crying and then started apologizing to all her guests for it! It was adorable. Please enjoy this sneak peek of Sara and Connor's Elegant Cedarwood Garden Wedding!

Sneak Peek Jewel-Toned Fall Ruby Wedding - Kelly & Neil
Photographs from a Fall Jewel-Toned Wedding at Ruby in Nashville.
Kelly & Neil's wedding at Ruby in Nashville this past weekend was just beautiful. When you have such a happy and smiling bride and groom it makes everything that much easier. They had their engagement session with me (and the adorable Major) earlier this year so it felt natural for me to be up in their faces all day at their wedding which made for even more authentic portraits. Add in Kelly's choice in wedding colors that popped in the softer fall light, and my heart was happy. Their reception was non stop and everyone there obviously loved to party. I even got to photograph my first Armenian wedding dance! Not only did I have all of the elements that makes for gorgeous photos, they both made me feel extremely welcome. At one point one of the guests pulled me on the dance floor. I escaped and Neil dragged me back in proclaiming that I was "the best photographer ever" so to say that I felt appreciated is an understatement. It was such a gorgeous day with a lovely couple. I am so happy that a year ago Kelly contacted me and that I got to be the one to photograph their Jewel-Toned Fall Ruby Wedding. Please check out their sneak peek below!

Belle Meade Plantation 1 Year Old Session - Charlie
A one Year old family session photographed at Belle Meade Plantation in Nashville, TN.
This blog should be called the many funny and adorable faces of Charlie. So many expressions from this child (that I think he gets from his mom) and as you know, I love funny kid faces. I know both of Charlie's parents from working with them in the wedding and event industry so when they asked me to photograph this cute little guy's 1 year portraits, I couldn't wait. The area that we started the session in was were Charlie's parents were married! Please enjoy this sneak peek of Charlie's Belle Meade Plantation 1 Year Old Session.
Sunset Nashville Skyline Proposal - Bill & Becky
A out of town marriage proposal on the Nashville Walking Bridge photographed by Erin Lee Allender Photography.
Bill contacted me a month ago and said that he and his girlfriend Becky were going to be visiting Nashville and he was going to surprise her by proposing! Would I be interested in photographing it? Of course! Last Friday I found my spot on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge and fended off millennials with selfie sticks. When Bill walked, up two bicyclists had taken over my location and I had to motion to Bill to propose in a different spot. There is always something, but it all worked out! Becky was excited and shocked. You'll see the shot where Bill pointed me out. Congratulations Bill & Becky! Thanks for choosing me to photograph your Sunset Nashville Skyline Wedding Proposal!
Sneak Peek Bookish Murfreesboro Intimate Wedding - Lauren & Michael
A literature themed intimate backyard wedding in Murfreesboro, Tennessee photographed by Erin Lee Allender.
Oh my gosh you guys! This wedding has all of my favorite things - It's in the couple's backyard, it's a tiny wedding, IT HAS DOGS, it has a literature themed decor, a dinosaur cake topper with attire to match the bride and groom's attire, and most importantly an extremely sweet and fun couple! Did I say that it has dogs??
Lauren always wanted to be a librarian but became a lawyer instead. She met Michael a few years ago and guess what? He IS a librarian! So they decided to get married. I'm sure it actually had a lot to do with his other redeeming qualities and not just his job.
Cooper and Charlie's mom and dad were married in their backyard this past Saturday and I was lucky enough to be there to photograph it. The decor made my nerdy heart happy and you will not believe that the florals were done by Lauren's mom! The best part of all of this is that I get to see everyone again next month when I photograph Lauren's sister Kayla's wedding! Please enjoy this Bookish Murfreesboro Intimate Wedding!

Total Eclipse Proposal - Morgan & Matthew
A wedding proposal at Arrington Vineyards outside of Nashville after the total eclipse photographed by Erin Lee Allender.
Matthew called a couple months ago to inquire about my wedding proposal photography services. In hopes that it would throw her off the scent of another big event, Matthew's plan was to surprise Morgan with a trip to Nashville for the weekend to view the total eclipse. After the eclipse he was going to take her to Arrington Vineyards for a private tour. I would be waiting for them at the end. I arrived early and sat at picnic table pretending to be on my phone but still trying to keep an eye out for the moment that Matthew dropped to one knee. Morgan noticed me but later told me that she didn't understand why someone was creepily watching them. Ha! Oops! Creepy is a first I think...I hope. Matthew popped the question and Morgan was in complete shock. It was very obvious that she did not at all expect it to happen! Congratulations guys! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of the start of your new life together. Thanks to Mackenzie at Arrington for all her help!

70th Birthday Party in Albany Kentucky - Glen
a 70th birthday party at the couple's lake house in Albany, Kentucky photographed by Erin Lee Allender Photography of Nashville, Tennessee.
This year has been the year of photographing non wedding events and last weekend I was hired to travel outside of Nashville to Albany, KY for Glen's 70th birthday. The party took place at the couple's lake house on Dale Hollow Lake and was executed, planned, and designed by Glen's daughter. Karen is professional planner in California and she transformed her mom and dad's garage into a stunning dinning hall.
Besides the fact that this was a gorgeous location, it was amazing to photograph such an intimate event for a man that is obviously very loved. "Lifelong" friends (some for 50 years) gave toasts and shared stories. Kevin Ashworth of Louisville's 610 Magnolia prepared a private feast in the couple's kitchen and the night ended with good friends, Walker and Kays, playing Jazz on the back patio. Happy Birthday, Glen!

Sophisticated Nashville Engagement Session - Justin & Aleisha
Justin Hunter and Aleisha Rayner's sophisticated Nashville engagement session photographed by Erin Lee Allender.
Tiffanie of Elliott Events told me that I was going to love these two and she was so right. Aleisha and Justin and I met for the first time at their engagement session and I instantly knew that they were going to be a lot of fun to work with. We started off the session at Noah Liff where we took advantage of the modern architecture. Don't you love Justin's red suit and Aleisha's classic black dress??? After that we moved on to the walking bridge to get some golden hour light with the Nashville Skyline. I'm so excited with what we got and cannot wait until their wedding! Please enjoy their sophisticated Nashville engagement session.
Childhood Home Farm Engagement Session - Anna & Josh
An engagement session on the farm where the bride-to-be grew up. Photographed by Erin Lee Allender of Nashville, Tennessee.
No this is not Sarah again. This is her identical twin sister Anna and her fiance Josh. I'm photographing both of their weddings next year and I'm so excited that I get to work with their families twice in one year!
For Anna and Josh's engagement session we met at the farm outside of Nashville, Tennessee where Anna and Sarah grew up. We crawled down to the creek, drove through fields, and pet cows. It was pretty fantastic. Josh came up with a new catch phrase for me to tell my couples to look at each other "lovingly and longingly". Please enjoy their engagement session at Anna's childhood home. I cannot imagine how amazing it was to grow up there!
Percy Warner Summer Engagement Session - Sarah & Mitchell
A summer engagement session at Percy Warner Park in Nashville Tennessee photographed by Wedding Photographer Erin Lee Allender.
Sarah and Mitchell met through mutual friends while on vacation. Sarah was on a girls trip with some of her friends and Mitchell was on a guys trip. One night, the girls met up with the guys and after hanging out with Sarah for a bit, Mitchell was smitten. He pursued Sarah from a distance for a year before he moved to Nashville and a few weeks ago he proposed!
Last week we went to Percy Warner Park in Nashville to photograph their engagement session. Despite it being a humid and hot July day, they were both troopers! I can't wait to photograph your wedding next year, guys!
In Home Boulder Colorado Lifestyle Session - Sarah & Simon
An In Home Boulder Colorado Lifestyle Photography session taken after the couple was married at the courthouse photographed by Erin Lee Allender of Nashville, TN.
The day before Sarah and Simon's Backyard Wedding in Boulder, Colorado I photographed an In Home Lifestyle Session of the two of them in their living room. They had just come from the court house where they had a private wedding ceremony. They were "just married" giddy and kept trying out the terms husband and wife. It was incredibly sweet. Once we finished at the house we went to a nearby park and then the location of their first date! Of course we included the fabulous Rosie, the Min Pin baby of the family.
Sneak Peek Intimate Clarksville Backyard Reception - Erika & Joseph
A intimate wedding reception in the couple's backyard on the Cumberland River in Clarksville, Tennessee photographed by Erin Lee Allender of Nashville, TN.
Every once in awhile you are contacted for a wedding three weeks before a wedding date and sometimes they are in a couple's beautiful backyard on the Cumberland River. Usually not, but sometimes. Erika & Joseph met at work and knew right away that they had something special. Last Friday with Erika's children as the biggest part of their wedding party, they were married at Grace Community Church in Clarksville. It is the summer of tiny weddings for me (I love it) and at Erika and Joseph's ceremony they only had 20 people present. After I photographed their ceremony and portraits we traveled to their home where they met more guests. With the help of Lauren from Randi Events, they transformed their backyard into a romantic reception venue. Please enjoy this sneak peek of Erika and Joseph's Intimate Clarksville Backyard Reception!

Happy 4th - Styled Shoot with Elle Event Style
A Fourth of July Inspiration Shoot that is simple yet fun from Elle Event Style photographed by Erin Lee Allender at Arrington Vineyards outside of Nashville, Tennessee.
Happy 4th of July everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful time eating and lighting things on fire with your family and friends. I wanted to share this mini 4th of July inspired styled shoot that Leah from Elle Event Style and I did a few weeks ago at Arrington Vineyards. Leah did an incredible job with this design. I loved everything from the alternating patriotic placemats with the melamine plates that looked just like paper plates to the "Let Sparks Fly" sparkler favor and the best and only macarons that I will ever eat. You can read more about the design in this Nashville Bride Guide Post.

Sneak Peek Intimate LDS Wedding - Katie & Craig
An Intimate LDS Destination Wedding photographed in Franklin by Erin Lee Allender of Nashville Tennessee.
Katie calls Craig her unicorn- her magical mystical creature that she didn't think existed. They met 10+ years ago in a completely different state and realized that they lived a few counties apart. Years and years past when Katie reached out to Craig on Instagram. Once Craig realized that it was the cute bubbly girl that he met so many years ago, they started talking and by Christmas they were engaged.
I got to photograph this lovely couple this past weekend. Because they were married in private ceremony at the LDS Nashville Temple, I did not photograph their ceremony. But I did get to photograph Katie getting ready, their portraits, and their reception at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs. I hope you can feel the excitement of these two in these photos. I thought Katie was going to burst because she was so happy. Craig couldn't stop taking iPhone photos of his beautiful bride. It was incredibly sweet and I'm so glad that I got work with these two.

Sneak Peek Classic Spring Wedding - Channing & Taylor
A classic spring wedding at Covenant Presbyterian Church and University Club Nashville photographed by Erin Lee Allender in Tennessee.
I met Channing and her mom in Frothy Monkey last fall. My house had just flooded and we were living in an Airbnb without the pups. All I wanted to do was sit in front of the TV with ice cream and eat my miseries away. The last thing I wanted to do was have to promote myself to new people but then walked in two of the loveliest people ever, Channing and her mom Heidi. I instantly wanted to photograph this wedding.
This past weekend I finally got to meet the groom, Taylor and the rest of the bride and groom's families. When I say I have the best couples and the best families, I really mean it. These two and their families despite the ridiculous heat were gracious and fun the whole entire day. The size of this wedding party beat out the count of any other wedding party that I have photographed in my career and there wasn't a difficult one in the bunch. They were all amazing!!! Most importantly you could tangibly see how much joy Channing and Taylor had in each other's presence. Please enjoy their sneak peek!

Sneak Peek Bengali-American Wedding Weekend - Tanya & Asad
A two day Indian Wedding Celebration with a Sci-fi & Video game theme designed by Angela Proffitt and photographed by Erin Lee Allender of Nashville, Tennessee.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that these two are madly in love. As soon as they look at each other, they light up. This past weekend I was very fortunate to photograph two of the days of their wedding celebration. Saturday night was the Gaye Holud. During the Gaye holud, gifts are brought to the bride and groom (including their wedding attire), tumeric is rubbed on their faces and sweets are hand fed to them by their relatives. All of this was done as a beautification process for their reception the next day.
Sunday was their reception. And with the help of Angela Proffitt, the couple added their personal touch to their decor. Their centerpieces centered around their love for sci-fi and video games, quotes on their favor boxes came from well loved movies, video games, etc., and their music although it most of it sounded like chamber music, was actually some of their favorite rock songs. Sunday also included the traditional gate ceremony where the bride's family blocked the groom and his family from entering the hall. His family had to bid on his behalf in order for him to enter in to the reception see his bride. They paid and pushed their way through only for Asad's shoes to be stolen by the bride's family. To get the shoes, he had to pay for them. I don't think he ever did!
Working with this bride and groom and their immediate and extended families was incredible. They were some of the nicest and kindest people that I have ever encountered and I don't think I have ever been asked if I have eaten so much in my life....which if you know me, that is my love language. I also love color so this was a dream come true. There was honestly some of the most beautiful clothing I have ever seen. Thank you so much for including me in your wedding weekend.

Day Two - The Reception & Gate Ceremony
Sneak Peek Riverwood Garden Wedding - Ashley & Mike
Families that have known each other forever are joined together when their children get married at Riverwood Mansion in Nashville, Tennessee. Photographed by Erin Lee Allender.
Ashley & Mike's families knew each other long before Ashley and Mike met. When they were in elementary school, their dads shared the same room for an office in the Pentagon, but Ashely & Mike didn't meet until high school. Mike eventually won Ashley's favor (which took some time) and they dated through high school and college, but life took them in different directions. Several years later they reconnected and started dating again. If you ever see Mike, ask him about it. He has a rather humorous and slightly embellished version of their rekindled relationship.
I loved these two as soon as I met them and their wedding day couldn't have been any more beautiful! It was amazing to see their relationship with their families and the friends that had become their family in all the different places they have lived. It was a gorgeous day and I am so happy that I got to be a part of it. Please enjoy this sneak peek of their Riverwood Garden Wedding.
