The brief for this job was clear: photograph a day of sales education for a conference bringing together ambassadors for one of the largest wine and spirits companies in the world. The images were for internal use. Be present, be productive, be discrete.

WHAT CORPORATE MARKETING PHOTOGRAPHY ACTUALLY REQUIRES

This company hired me as a Nashville corporate event photographer for one specific purpose: marketing-quality images, obtained discretely, without interrupting the work happening in the room.

That means no posing, no directing, no asking anyone to reset. I'm scanning constantly — listening to the instructor, tracking where the content is headed, moving to a position and staying there until the moment comes. When a prompt lands and the room reacts, I'm already framed for it. There is always something happening. My job is to know where it's about to happen next.

It's the same approach I brought to the Forrester CX Conference breakout sessions at Gaylord Opryland — educational content, engaged rooms, no production support.

CORPORATE IMAGES AREN'T ALWAYS MEANT FOR THE PUBLIC

The purpose of this coverage was internal use. These photographs stayed inside the organization — real interaction from real employees, documented accurately. Nobody in that room was performing for a camera. They were there to learn and have fun, and I was there to photograph it.
