One of My Favorite Places - Siesta Key

A few weeks ago my husband Taylor, my mother-in-law, and I went on vacation to Siesta Key, Florida. I had a rare weekend in October with no weddings to photograph and we took advantage of it. Last year my husband and I went on our delayed honeymoon to Siesta Key and absolutely fell in love with the gorgeous beach and the quirky little town. So when we had the chance to go back again this year, we couldn't wait.

Unfortunately while we were gone our master bedroom and kitchen were flooded by an upstairs toilet overflowing... so while we're now in the midst of insurance assessments and our house being torn up, I can look at these photos and go to my happy place again.

This is the first time in a long time that I brought my camera along for personal work and I'm so glad that I did. Here are a few photographs that I grabbed when I wasn't lounging in a cabana on the beach reading a book. Places in these photos are Siesta Key Beach, St. Armand's Circle, and the house is Ca' d'Zan which is part of the Ringling Museum in Sarasota.
