Nashville Cranberry Winter Wedding - Emily & Jamie

I met Emily several years ago at a friend and coworker's apartment that they shared where a bunch of girls were watching the CMA awards. Emily was fairly new here and was all about the Nashville Taylor Swift gossip. I liked her instantly. One day on Facebook I see a photo of a guy on one knee in Iceland in front of Emily and next thing I know Emily and I are talking about her wedding!

Until Emily and Jamie's rehearsal dinner, I had not met Jamie. During their toasts that night I saw the way he looked at Emily and it was so extremely obvious how he felt about her. Then I saw how Emily looked at Jamie and I knew without a doubt that these two were perfect for each other.

Emily and Jamie where married at Marathon Music Works this past Saturday. The couple met in Nashville and although they no longer live in this state, they consider it home. Before heading to the venue we started off photographs at Nashville's John Seigenthaler's Walking Bridge.  We had perfect light with a really fantastic wedding party! The reception centered around the different places that they both have lived, Nashville, and a tasteful nod to winter with the color cranberry and actual cranberries throughout the decor. The highlight of the day was the reception where Emily and Jamie made sure their guests danced all night by hiring The Downtown Band. The floor was NEVER empty. This couple is so much fun and knows how to great time! Please enjoy Emily & Jamie's Nashville Cranberry Winter Wedding Sneak Peek!

75th and 80th Noah Liff Birthday Party - Allis & John

This past Saturday I had the opportunity to photograph Allis and John's birthday party at Noah Liff Opera Center. Allis and John had turned 75 and 80 years young. They were also getting ready to celebrate their wedding anniversary. All their children and grandchildren were present to celebrate. Prior to the party we did individual family photos and one BIG family photo. Everyone was a delight to work with and I was so happy that I got to be the one photographing. Please enjoy this sneak peek of Allis and John's 75th and 80th Noah Liff Birthday Party.

Shelby Bottoms Couple Session - Megan & Chris

Meet the extremely adorable Megan & Chris! Just because you are already married doesn't mean that you don't need photos together. Megan & Chris' wedding was close to 2 years ago but they wanted to have some Christmas card photographs taken. They chose one of their favorite locations, Shelby Bottoms in East Nashville, for their session. I really enjoyed working with this sweet and fun duo! Please enjoy their Shelby Bottoms Couple Session.

Happy Thanksgiving 2017

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope that you are spending time with those that you love stuffing your face. This year I am so thankful for all the people that I've worked with this year and in the years past. You have made for a really successful and fulfilling 2017 and for that, I am extremely grateful.

Cumberland River Fall Family Session - Ballard Family

This here is yet another one of my favorite families to photograph. I met the Ballard family when they signed up for my 2016 Christmas Minis and I instantly fell in love. This year we did a session at the Two Rivers Greenway and the Cumberland pedestrian bridge in Nashville. You'll see why I love these guys..especially in the photo when I jokingly asked them to airplane Reagan. Please enjoy their Cumberland River Fall Family Session sneak peek!

Sunrise Fall Engagement Session - Alia & Whit

Meet Alia & Whit! Another couple that just booked me to photograph their Nashville wedding! We met for the first time at 6:00 in the morning on the Nashville Pedestrian Bridge in 33 degree weather and I just knew that I was going to really like them. If a couple can be sweet and easy going under those conditions, you know they are the ONE.... you want to work with. We started out at sunrise on the pedestrian bridge and then moved onto the restaurant in Sylvan park where Whit proposed. We finished off their session in front of Edley's, a place so dear to them that they named their puppy after it. They didn't bring Edley which is a strike against them, but I have faith that they will make it up to me.... I'm kidding. Or am I? Please enjoy their Sunrise Fall Engagement Session Sneak Peek! I can't wait for their spring wedding next year!

CMA Marriage Proposal - Jessica & Scott

This might be my favorite marriage proposal story yet. Scott and Jessica were flying into Nashville to attend the CMA Awards and unbeknownst to Jessica, Scott was going to propose while they were there. Scott and I set  a location and a time and I waited for them to arrive at Cumberland Park. Scott told Jessica that they were going to meet a tour guide to take them on a tour of The Opry. So they grabbed an Uber and headed my direction. Jessica was confused as to why they are headed away from The Opry and on the whole ride their Uber driver is telling them all kinds of stories about crime and wanting to fight people. They showed up at Cumberland Park which other than me is deserted. I'm trying to hide my cameras and not look suspicious but also be seen by Scott so that he knows that everything is ready to go. So basically.... I looked sketchy and I hear Jessica say "This is weird. Why are we meeting a tour guide here." She was completely weirded out by this out of the way location and the strange women that keeps stealing glances at them. Next thing she knows Scott drops to one knee. I'm pretty sure her first words were "No. Stop. What are you doing?" And then "Yes. Of course yes." She was so shocked and still did not know what was going on (see the image directly below). She gradually grasped that she was now engaged but Scott definitely surprised her.

Congratulations, Jessica & Scott! I'm so glad I could provide a situation where Jessica questioned her safety, but ended up getting something really sparkly. I hope you enjoyed the CMA Awards. Please enjoy their chilly CMA Marriage Proposal!

Franklin Fall Engagement Session - Morgan & Matthew

If you can't tell, Morgan and Matthew are a lot of fun. This past Sunday we spent some time in downtown Franklin and at Carnton Plantation taking their engagement photographs while also having an absolute blast. I'm so looking forward to their wedding this spring. Please enjoy their Franklin Fall Engagement Session!

Surprise Extended Family Session

Last Friday I had the pleasure of photographing a surprise extended family session in Brentwood. Anna contacted several weeks ago me about booking a session for their mother. Her children all live in different states and they were all going to be in town for a wedding and they thought it would be great to surprise her with a session. We met at a park and these are some of my favorites! Please enjoy this surprise extended family session.

Surprise 80th Birthday Party - Libby & Moshe

Last Saturday I got to photograph a surprise 80th birthday party for Libby and Moshe. Their family and friends from all over the United States met at the Park Cafe in Nashville, TN to celebrate their favorite couple. Songs were song, poems were read and toasts were given to the birthday girl and boy. These retirement parties and milestone birthday parties are quickly becoming my favorite thing to photograph. It is amazing to see the lifelong friendships and families connections that have lasted for generations. Libby and Moshe are truly blessed and I can honestly say that I too was blessed by getting to photograph these connections. Happy Birthday, Libby & Moshe!

Autumn 1 Year Old Session - Harper

This was the last session in Harper's Baby First Year Package! I was so blessed to photography this little girl's parent's wedding and then I've gotten to work with Harper several times since she was born! This sweet little girl is SMART. You could see her processing everything around her and she was going to make us work for those smiles. Her grandpa taught her a face called the "Papaw face" that she does on command which was my favorite. Happy 1st Birthday, Harper. Please enjoy this sneak peek of Harpers Autumn 1 Year Old Session.

Sneak Peek Elegant Cedarwood Garden Wedding - Sara & Connor

I just love these two! Sara’s smile lights up everything around her including a cloudy, raining wedding ceremony. Connor is just the absolute best = they are perfect together. Sara and Connor met while they were both with separate friend groups sitting at different tables at Patterson House. Connor was stationed in Clarksville and Sara was on vacation. Crazily, Sara and one of her bridesmaids both met their husbands that night!

Sara and Connor looked incredible on their wedding day and Historic Cedarwood looked stunning as always. The entire day was overcast and we were hoping that the rain would hold off until the reception but instead it decided to start raining right before Sara walked down the aisle. Sara and Connor were troopers and had their whole ceremony in the rain. They never complained once and STILL looked amazing afterwards. The rain ended almost as soon as we started their portraits leaving us with some really fun light to play with.  By far my favorite moment was when Sara was walking down the aisle to Connor on her dad's arm. She started crying and then started apologizing to all her guests for it! It was adorable. Please enjoy this sneak peek of Sara and Connor's Elegant Cedarwood Garden Wedding!
